True superheroes are not the ones who wear a superhero costume, can fly, tackle the Metroid, fight with the Evil and Demons from other planets to save the world. Superheroes are the people who are ordinary people with ordinary strength & power and instead, doing things like our imaginary superheroes that are saving the world selflessly.

As a part of this article, we are going to read about a few such superheroes of India.

Afroz Shah

Afroz Shah is a young Indian lawyer from Mumbai, synonymous with the world’s largest beach clean-up project. He’s the man behind Mumbai’s Versova beach clean-up and was awarded the UN’s top environmental accolade — Champions of the Earth award in 2016 for his work.

He is a true inspiration that put out a message to a world that if an individual decides to do anything he can on his own.

Divers in Vizag

A group of divers in Vizag are on a mission to clean the sea and have already cleared 5,000 kg of trash. The divers in Vizag collect around 600 kg of waste in a day using only minimal diving gear like masks and use net bags to collect the garbage from the sea.

Jadav Payeng: The Forest Man

65-year-old Jadav Payeng has conferred the title ‘The Forest Man’ in Delhi by the Government of India on World Earth Day in 2010, for turning a barren land of 550 hectares (over 1300 acres) into a lush green forest all by himself. He earned this name by spending 30 years of his life planting trees, creating a real man-made forest

Our education system should encourage our children to plan trees — Jadav Payeng

Binish Desai, India’s ‘Recycle Man’

26-year-old Dr. Binish Desai, a social entrepreneur from Gujarat, believes that ‘nothing is useless in this world’ and turns industrial waste into new assets. Dr. Binish Desai’s obsession with transforming waste started at the tender age of 11 when he got some chewing gum stuck on his trousers and tried to remove it with a piece of paper.
Dr. Binish Desai is now working on converting Masks, PPE kits, and Gloves related waste to a brick.

Rajendra Singh — Waterman of India

(born 6 August 1959) is an Indian water conservationist and environmentalist from Alwar district, Rajasthan in India. Also known as “waterman of India”, he won the Magsaysay Award in 2001 and Stockholm Water Prize in 2015. He runs an NGO called ‘Tarun Bharat Sangh’ (TBS), which was founded in 1975.

There are a lot of other superheroes which I have not mentioned in this blog but they also equally Contribute to nature. This is just a start to think about the environment in every aspect of our lives.
